Nice to meet you!
I am Kathy (she/her), a systematic-thinking designer with experience helping teams plan and build user-focused digital products.
I’m currently bringing together art, technology, and data visualization to build a micro-website that tells a humanizing story of those affected by the toxic drug public health emergency in British Columbia.

Values I live by
-
Curiosity
A committed lifelong learner with a desire to understand the world and how things work, I go beyond the surface asking questions, embracing a plurality of perspectives, learning new skills, and exploring new possibilities.
-
Conscientiousness
Our lived experiences influence how we interact and create for the world around us. By being conscious of my power as a designer, keeping an open mind, learning from others through collaboration, and seeking feedback from diverse perspectives, I can challenge my assumptions and biases, broadening my understanding to create for a better, more inclusive, equitable world.
-
Compassion
When we take the time to be in the present moment and truly listen without judgment to others, we can then begin to comprehend our differences, make meaningful connections, and respond with kindness, care, and support.
-
Accountability
I strive to be intentional with my actions, always considering the long-term consequences over short-term gain. I embrace vulnerability and take ownership for my choices, recognizing that every action is an opportunity to learn and grow.
-
Adventure
Being present and excited in the moment, and open to new experiences, allows me to be flexible and enjoy venturing beyond my comfort zone, embracing new challenges and experiences in the complex and ever-changing world.
